Louise Marley — In Airs Beneath the Moon (Tor), Louise Marley, writing under the pen name Toby Bishop, presents a story of a world where winged horses are precious, blessed creatures. When one is born, it is immediately taken to the Academy of the Air to be trained and watched over. But when a spirited peasant girl bonds with a winged horse of her own, the Academy gets more than it bargained for.
Mary Rosenblum's Horizons (Tor) presents a near future where the human race has begun to spread to colonies in orbit. Ahni Huang finds herself caught in the power struggle for control over the new worlds, and that of the old.

Fantastic Fiction Salon with author Paul Park
Paul Park is known as one of the finest authors on the "humanist" wing of American SF. "His powerful, densely written narratives of religious and existential crisis on worlds at once exotic and familiar" (Nick Gevers) have won him critical acclaim. Paul Park has written eleven novels and he launches the newly published The White Tyger this evening. Presented by Richard Hugo House and NW Media Arts. $4 suggested donation at the door.
