It’s pretty much a given that art was going to change and keep changing when it merged with computers. Part of that change includes the way electronic art is viewed and distributed, especially when it comes to social networking.

Almost everyone you meet has some form of social networking account. For a lot of those people, more than half of their social networking is done through shared pictures. These pictures are mostly captioned pieces or simply text on a colored background. Both are examples of textual artwork. They might not be as fancy or take as much time to complete as works by the great masters, but they are art just the same.

These and other works of electronic art are often pulled from a single source and tweeted, tumbled, and shared across all types of social media. Largely, distribution of electronic art is as easy as clicking a single button. There are very few places on the web left where there aren’t icons that make sharing across social networks just that easy.

Art has never been a stranger to embracing the revolutionary technology of the day. Current artists are faced with the plethora of possibilities being ushered in by the digital age. These possibilities have manifested themselves as virtual installation art accessible via the Internet, collaborative digital products accessible to anyone with a computer the world over, and new mediums made possible through applications running on computers. The ease with which this artwork can be distributed is perhaps the most revolutionary factor associated with producing digital work. Seeking the assistance of galleries for exposure is no longer necessary. Social networking sites and free web templates for homepages are now rampantly available. Virtually no knowledge of “html” or programming is necessary.

The drawing and painting Apps being developed for tablets have also made a major impact on artists. Rather than having to carry a sketchbook and drawing media with them on the go, artist now simply carry the digital tablet that is equipped with the latest application. Once the drawing or painting is complete, it can be instantly shared with the world through Facebook or Twitter. Social media sites have also made it easier for artists to share technology and develop ideas with each other. Specialized groups on social media are setup with the expressed purpose of bringing artists across the globe together.

If you have cable.tv, then you’ve probably seen stuff like Art:21 – Art in the 21st Century. It’s a PBS miniseries produced biennially that dives deep into the world of modern art. They cover everything from photographs to paintings and even digital art.

The digital medium, though only recently getting the attention it deserves, has been around since the 1970s. Artists like Wade Guyton and Pascal Dombis and Joseph Nechvatal are just a handful of the visionaries working and producing in the digital medium.

For some, the digital medium is the logical progression or evolution of human creativity and passion fueled by the technological advances of our time. You don’t just have 3D generated images, you have paintings made by computer AIs, virtual environment projected on white walls, and even abstracts prints of solid colors that all combine to create something truly evocative of a technological time period.

Despite what some purists might consider to be “faux art” the fact of the matter is that the digital medium is something we as human beings simply cannot ignore. Technology and the digital domain are woven so deep into our lives we can scarcely imagine a world without. That kind of influence informs our art style.

The Digital Medium will never go away. It will simply change.

Although the traditional method of doing design work is here to stay, computer generated art has certainly taken the lead in most practical applications. Artists have also adopted the keyboard as a substitute for the pallette, and their brushes.

Whether formally trained, or self taught, creating artwork with the help of the computer offers the artist endless possibilities when creating unique designs. No matter what level of experience an artist or designer might have, there is software available to meet any need. There are even many free , or trial versions of software available for users to experiment with.

Most comprehensive design software is capable of helping the user produce impressive visual pieces. The only prerequisite is a well exercised imagination. That being said, it’s important to remember that the computer doesn’t create wonderful designs on its own. It is essential not only to master the software, but to harness you own inner creativity.

Once an artist has chosen software that makes them comfortable, it is critical to study the program, inside and out. Read the manual, read articles that offer reviews, and practice using online tutorials. Just when you think you’ve learned it all, you will discover something totally new.

THE GOOD
The mouse is the new brush when it comes to Digital Arts. Digital Arts and Crafts are growing rapidly in the art world for a number of reasons. Anything digital cuts out on the mess and also the price of supplies. Usually if you were going to paint a beautiful portrait you would need paint, a paint brush, something to paint on, some paper or something to put underneath your work place to catch the falling paint, and more. When constructing a portrait digitally all of those extra tools are irrelevant, saving you money. Also, sharing and distributing your work will become that much easier and quicker. Now every great thing does have a downside, Digital Arts has very little.

THE BAD
The only negative that I could find and yes research has been done, was that It is kind of difficult to navigate a mouse or laptop pad with the same exact accuracy as a paint brush. Know how some mouses are funky and hard to slide across the pad, yea. As of a negative it can easily be turned into a positive buy buying an instrument from a computer store to make this easier. Should not be to hard with all the money you would be saving.

New and more advanced graphic design software has opened up a whole new world of possibilities for those interested in visual media. With the ever increasing sophistication the chance for even those of novice skill level to create striking, high quality and impressive visual images has never been greater. For those artists who work within the industry, having a better and more effective way to create images can be very valuable.

Novices and those interested in graphic design more as a hobby are in a position to gain much from recent innovation. Powerful and low cost software have allowed many who are interested to sample the methods of creating digital graphics without having to invest too much on the equipment needed to do so. As this technology continues to grow more sophisticated, lower in cost and easier to use even more people will have a chance to use it.

While the best and most professional digital images may still need some formal training to be able to produce, the sophistication of more user friendly software programs continues to grow. Trends for digital graphics seem to indicate more and more features and options will become widely available. Artists and professionals alike have much to gain.

The beauty of electronic and digital art is that it is often even more detailed than regular art. These types of art forms are fairly recent. Thanks to the creation of computers, they are now possible. This type of art has an even more realistic look. If it is done by a master artist, then it can be some of the best art that you have ever seen.

The beauty of these two types of art is in the realistic nature of the art. Creating this art can be a lot of fun, but it can take some time like any other art. Typically, the more time you spend doing something right, the better it is going to look in the end. The same is true with digital art.

The beauty of digital art is that nowadays, you can even use your skills to create even more amazing photos. You can make them funny, or you can make them stunning. You can make a sunset even more beautiful. These arts, now allow for people to create new forms of beauty, and that is what makes these arts so good. They allow for you to be more creative, and they help you to create something stunning. If you were not any good with drawing, that does not mean that you will be terrible with digital art or electronic art.

The information party rocks on: Nanoo G.’s Portfolio

Since the advent of the computer, todays modern artist now has a way to express their work digitally using various digital graphic programs. Using the computer for creating art is relatively new, but the technology is constantly evolving, and in just a short time span, creating digital graphics has become a permanent mainstay in the art world. There are two basic types of computer graphics, 2D and 3D.

2D computer graphics, referred to as two dimensional, is a form of digital design that uses only two dimensions, height and width. A good example of this is a digital photograph that is uploaded to a computer. Essentially, the photo can be manipulated using various photo software programs. In this case, the artist works within the realm of only height and width.

3D computer graphics contains both height and width, but also contains depth. The digital artist has more options for creating more complex graphics, and can create various objects, graphs, and animations which appear to have depth. Think of 2D as just a plain flat photograph on the screen, and 3D as the picture of a cube or other object which shows it’s depth as well as the height and width.
